New Delhi, January 17, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The number of COVID cases reported across the country in the last 24 hours has reduced a little, 2.58 lakh new cases have been reported.
According to the information provided by the Union Health Ministry, about 2,58,098 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and 385 people lost their lives. The positivity rate in the country is 19.65%.
In the last 24 hours, 1,51,740 people have recovered from the pandemic and the total number of active cases are 16,56,341. The tally of the people who have recovered has reached 3,52,37,461 and the recovery rate is 94.27%.
While on the one hand, the number of new COVID cases has reduced a little bit, the number of Omicron cases has increased. The number of Omicron cases in the country on Sunday was 7743. Thus the tally has increased to 8209. While Maharashtra is in the first place with 1738 Omicron cases, West Bengal is in second place with 1672 cases, and Rajasthan is in third place with 1276 cases.
