Bengaluru, November 22, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai informed that the crop in five lakh hectares of land in the State is destroyed due to the heavy rains that have been lashing the State from the past 10-15 days.
Speaking in Bengaluru today about the loss that occurred due to rains, the Chief Minister announced the government would provide a sum of Rs. 1 lakh compensation each to the families who have lost houses completely. “We will also provide compensation to others whose houses have been damaged partially. A sum of Rs. 500 crore will be released soon for road repairs. The officers of the concerned departments will inspect the flood situation soon,” he added.
Further, he also informed that the Election Commission has permitted the Chief Minister’s election tour. “The flood inspection will be commenced from today and will be completed at the earliest. I have instructed the officials concerned to visit the flood-hit places and inspect,” he said.
