New Delhi, November 29, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The dispute over the Karnataka-Maharashtra border issue will come for a hearing in the Hon’ble Supreme Court tomorrow. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today met senior counsel Mukul Rohtagi in New Delhi and discussed.
Speaking to the media persons after he met Mukul Rohtagi, the Chief Minister said, “the hearing of the border issue will come up in the Supreme Court tomorrow. I have provided all the details to our counsel Mukul Rohtagi. The hearing over the Maharashtra Government’s appeal will be held tomorrow in the Supreme Court. Our advocate Mukul Rohtagi epxlained me about the preparations for our arguments. I believe he will present a strong argument.”
In his response to the incident of pelting stones on KSRTC buses in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Bommai informed that the officials concerned have contacted the Home Ministry of Maharasthra. Concerning the merger of 42 villages in Jat Taluk of Maharashtra, there are several rules and regulations concering merging of places from one state to another. The people of those villages have been alleging for many years about the poor infrastructure. However, the border issue is in Court. I will organize an all-party meeting on this issue. Siddaramaiah has given expressed his political view over the issue” Bommai said.
