New Delhi, Dec. 16, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Even as the farmers have continued their protest against the new agriculture bill in New Delhi, the Government of India has taken a supporting step by announcing a special package to sugarcane growers.
The Govt. of India has approved a sum of Rs.3,500 crore subsidy to sugarcane growers. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to the media men after the cabinet meeting Central Minister Prakash Javadekar informed that the Financial Affairs Cabinet Committee has approved the Rs.3,500 crore subsidy. About 5 crore sugarcane growers will be benefitted from this. The subsidy amount will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the farmers,” he said.
