Mysuru, Feb. 24, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Mysore City Corporation Mayoral elections which had triggered a lot of curiosity have ended up in the old coalition between JDS and Congress. As a result, JDS candidate Rukmini Madegowda has been elected as the new Mayor of Mysore City.
The JDS candidate who garnered 43 votes has become the new Mayor and Congress candidate Anwar Baig has been elected as the Deputy Mayor. The Election Officer and Regional Commissioner Prakash have officially announced this.
While BJP Mayoral candidate Sunanda Palanetra obtained 26 votes, Congress candidate H.M. Shantakumari secured zero votes. Thus, the BJP which had eyed getting power in the MCC Mayor elections has tasted failure.
