ಮೈಸೂರು,ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್,17,2021(www.justkannada.in) : ಭಾರತದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಜೀವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರ ಸಂಘವು ದೇಶದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹಳೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಜೀವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರ ಸಂಘ(ಎಎಂಐ)ವು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ “ಮೈಸೂರು ಚಾಪ್ಟರ್ “ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿ, ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಆಫ್ ಮೈಕ್ರೋಬಯಾಲಜಿಸ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ (ಎಎಂಐ) ಎಎಂಐ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮೈಸೂರು ಚಾಪ್ಟರ್-ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
1938ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾದ ಭಾರತದ ಮೈಕ್ರೋಬಯಾಲಜಿಸ್ಟ್‌ಗಳ ಸಂಘವು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಜೀವವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಕಳೆದ 45 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಜರ್ನಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಮೈಕ್ರೋಬಯಾಲಜಿ ಎಂಬ ತ್ರೈಮಾಸಿಕ ಜರ್ನಲ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ದೇಶದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಜೀವವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಒಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕವಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮಾವೇಶವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೇಮ್ಸ್ ಗ್ರಹಾಂ ಬ್ರೌನ್ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಡಾ.ವೆಂಕಟಕೃಷ್ಣ ಆರ್.ಜಲ ಇತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Mysuru, Apr. 17, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists is one of the oldest and most popular among the science institutes,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists ‘Mysuru Chapter,’ at a program held today at the Vignana Bhavana in Manasagangotri campus.
In his address, he explained that the contribution of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists for the development of microbiology, especially in research areas is immense. “The association has been publishing a tri-monthly journal titled Indian Journal of Microbiology, and also is conducting national conferences every year at different microbiology institutes,” he added.
Dr. Venkatakrishna R. Jala, Assistant Professor, James Graham Brown Cancer Centre was present in the program.
