New Delhi, May 18, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “If your districts win the fight against Corona, it is like a big win for the entire country. I request you to work as a field commander and empower your districts. Pledge to make the villages that come under your respective districts free of Coronavirus,” suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts where the COVID-19 Pandemic is spreading swiftly. He interacted with the officers and collected information. Deputy Commissioners of 17 districts of Karnataka took part in the meeting, along with the Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa and BBMP Commissioner Gourav Gupta
The Prime Minister requested all the leaders of all the parties to join hands with the government in its fight against the pandemic. He appreciated the efforts made by all the officials in controlling the pandemic and asked them to write to him about their problems and challenges. He also asked the villagers to pledge to make their villages free of the pandemic.
On the occasion, he also informed that oxygen plants would be established in every district in the country and requested the officials concerned to announce the date of availability of vaccines to the people at least 15 days early.
