Bengaluru, January 18, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Here is a shocker for the people of the State who are already reeling under difficulties due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, lockdown, and steep increase in prices of essential commodities. The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is contemplating increasing the price of milk by Rs. 2 per liter.
The KMF authorities are said to be arriving at a final decision over the proposal of increasing the prices of milk after discussing with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. It is said that the proposal to increase the prices of milk was made in the annual general body meeting of the KMF held recently. However, KMF Chairman Balachandra Jarikholi has informed that a final decision in this regard would be taken after discussing with the various Federations and Chief Minister.
The prices of milk is increasing continuously over the last three years. The prices were increased thrice from 2019. While Rs. 1.50 was increased in February 2019, it was again increased by Rs. 1.50 in August. Again the price was increased by Re. 1 in November. It was increased by Rs. 1.50 in 2020 and by Rs. 2 in February 2021. Now KMF has again proposed to increase the price.
