Bengaluru, feb 4,2022(www.justkannada.in): Dismissing the fears that the increased load will lead to more than half of the guest lecturers losing jobs, The Commissioner, Department of Collegiate & Technical Education (DCTE) has told, out of the 14,000 lecturers working earlier, 10,600 lecturers were being appointed again.
Considering the demands of guest lecturers of government first-grade colleges, the government recently hiked their salary by more than double along with increasing the workload. Even after this 10,600 guest lecturers were being appointed again, P.Pradeep, Commissioner, DCTE, has told.
Earlier, there were around 14,000 guest lecturers and now the appointment is being made on the basis of seniority of experience, age and UGC prescribed qualification. The merit list has been prepared as per the stipulated norms. Since the number of guest lecturers who will get appointed is 10,600, about 3,400 guest lecturers may get affected. Among those who will be affected, most of them are less experienced, he has explained.
Earlier, the maximum salary of guest lecturers could not exceed Rs 13,000 per month even after working for maximum hours. But now their workload has been increased in such a way so that they would get Rs 32,000 per month. Besides, they will be paid salaries before the 10th date every month, he told.
