Mangaluru, May 12, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): A red alert has been announced in the border areas of Karnataka and Kerala states, following reporting of cases of ‘Tomato Fever,’ among children in Kerala.
A red alert has been announced in Mangaluru, Udupi, Kodagu, and border areas of Chamarajanagara and Mysuru Districts. The Health Department has given instructions to the authorities concerned to keep a strict vigil on those who arrive from Kerala and also monitor the health condition of children in the area, especially of those who are admitted to private and government hospitals. Tomato fever is caused by a rare virus.
