Mysuru, Feb. 19, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Significant discoveries are being made in genetics and genomics, biochemistry and molecular biological sectors in recent developments in the advanced biological sector,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the two-day International Seminar on the topic, “Recent Improvements in Genetics and Genomics,” held at the Rani Bahaddur Auditorium, in Manasagangotri campus, organized by the Genetics and Genomics Research Division of the University of Mysore.
In his address, he said that genetics is equipped with strong tools from analyzation of analytical genetics and genomics. “The individual genomics of diversity of the people of India and other countries that is sequential with medical history can be clearly understood,” he explained.
“I wish this seminar will focus on topics like the functioning of genes, how it is controlled and how can genetical problems be discovered, modified, and rectified,” he added.
Prof. K. Vijayaraghavn, Chief Scientific Advisor, Government of India, Prof. H.A. Ranganath, Visiting Professor, Bengaluru CAH wished all the best to the seminar.
