Bengaluru, March 15, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka has quashed all the writ appeals submitted requesting permission to wear hijab along with uniforms in schools and colleges. Thereby the High Court has uplifted the government’s order.
The High Court bench comprising Justices Rituraj Avasti, Justice Krishna Deekshit, and Justice Khaji Jaibunnisa Mohiyudin has given the judgment.IG
The judgment read, “Hijab is not mandatory in Islam. The government’s order is legal, nobody can question the government’s uniform code. Girl students should follow the uniform rule. Wearing of hijab will not be allowed in schools and colleges.
The three-member high court bench heard the hijab writ applications for 11 days, from February 11, and gave the judgment today.
