Bengaluru, October 20, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Karnataka Media Academy has invited applications from eligible journalists for the Endowment awards for three years, i.e., 2019, 2020, and 2021, given for best articles.
The Abhimani Prakashana, Bengaluru, and Mysuru Diganta of Mysuru have established a sum of Rs. one lakh as an endowment with the Karnataka Media Academy. While Abhimani Prakashana gives awards along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 every year for effective stories addressing social problems appeared in the State-level and District-level Kannada newspapers the Mysuru Diganata gives awards for effective stories on human problems.
Stories depicting social problems that appeared between January 2019 and December 2019 can be sent under the title ‘Abhimani Award-2019’, and stories that appeared between January 2020 and December 2020 and between January 2021 and September 2021 can be sent under the title for ‘Abhimani Award-2020 and ‘Abhimani Award-2021’ respectively. Likewise, effective stories depicting human problems can be sent separately mentioning the title of the award sought.
Only stories written by journalists working in Kannada daily newspapers, TV channels, and Weekly magazines are eligible for the awards. In case if the story doesn’t carry the byline, candidates can obtain a certificate from the Editor of the publication concerned and submit it. The last date of receiving the applications and stories, articles is November 23.
K. Sadashiva Shenoy, President, Karnataka Media Academy has urged eligible journalists to send the applications and reports to the ‘Podium Block, Visveswaraiah Center, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru- 560 001’ and has urged to mention the award sought clearly.
