Mysuru, Mar. 08, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The objective of celebrating National Science Day is to create awareness among the citizens about the importance of science in our lives. There is a need to create awareness among the youth on the advantages of science,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the ‘National Science Day’ program held at the Crawford Bhavan in the University of Mysore today.
In his address, he said, “every year National Science Day is celebrated on February 28. The University has been conducting several programs every year on this day, including several seminars, debates, competitions, quiz, exhibition, etc., based on themes.
He also wished on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.’ He appreciated the role of women in managing houses and for the achievements in all the sectors in the society. “Women’s Day is not only today, every day is Women’s Day,” he opined.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore was present on the occasion.
