CBI CHARGE SHEET IN LAST YEAR’S PHONE TAP CASE IS READY; FEMALE JOURNALIST, UNNAMED IPS OFFICER FIND MENTION TOO
The sensational phone tapping case involving a former police commissioner is inching towards its logical conclusion with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) having readied the charge sheet. CBI’s Anti-Corruption-I unit of the headquarter zone in New Delhi will soon file the chargesheet with a special CBI court in Bengaluru.
According to the CBI’s investigations and the subsequent charge sheet, former Bengaluru police commissioner Alok Kumar ordered illegal phone interceptions of several opposition and ruling party leaders, their relatives and public servants, including bureaucrats and IPS officers, during the previous Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the state.
