Mysuru, June 23, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Following the political developments taking place in Maharashtra leading to fall of Maharasthra State Govt., former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today made serious charges against the BJP by saying that the BJP is doing ‘Operation Lotus’ using corruption money and mentioned it as dangerous for democracy.
Speaking in Mysuru today, the leader of the opposition said that the BJP has spread its addition to the entire nation. “Migration to parties should be prevented in order to stop such developments. A person who is elected from one party should be prevented from migrating to another party. In case if any person jumps to other parties they should not be allowed to contest in the election for 10 years. It is essential for the survival of democracy. It is the BJP that gave birth to Operation Lotus. B.S. Yediyurappa led the operation lotus for the first time in 2008. He didn’t get majority any time. Hence, he purchased MLAs everytime,” he alleged.
In his response to the BJP’s selection of the candidate for the Presidential post, Siddaramaiah said it is not either social justice or there is anything special about it. “If they are so serious let them replace Mohan Bhagwat with such a person. Draupadi Murmu is a BJP person. She has served in several posts including governor. However, the BJP won’t allow her to work as she wishes if she becomes the president. Can she work like Rajendra Prasad earlier? Ram Nath Kovind was also a President. But what did he do? This is also similar, they have selected this candidate just for name sake,” he alleged.
