ಮೈಸೂರು,ಜನವರಿ,06,2021(www.justkannada.in) : ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗದ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ‘’6 ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಶೇ.50% ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರಾಟ’’ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಬುಧವಾರ ನಗರದ ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾಲಯ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗವು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿಯ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾಲಯ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದದ್ದು, 1924ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಸಾರ್ಥಕವಾದ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿ ಮುನ್ನೆಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪರಂಪರೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ 70ಸಾವಿರ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಹಸ್ತಪ್ರತಿಗಳ ಭಂಡಾರ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ, 222 ಹಸ್ತಪ್ರತಿಗಳ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. 1924ರಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಣಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ 1933ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಪಡೆದು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗವು 2800 ಶಿರ್ಷಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರಾರು ಮೌಲಿಕ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸ-ಪರಂಪರೆ-ಸಾಧನೆ-ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿವಿಗಳ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ದಾಖಲೆಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪದ್ದೆಂಬುದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ವಿಚಾರ. ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖವಾದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ಅರಸರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಿದ್ಯಾ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರು ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಶ್ರೀ ಮುಮ್ಮಡಿ ಚಾಮರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಸಾರಾಂಗದ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೂ ಒತ್ತಾಸೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತವರು ರಾಜರ್ಷಿ ನಾಲ್ವಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅವರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕವಿ ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಬೇಕು. ದೂರದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿ ರೂಪಿಸಿದರು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

MoU VC inaugurates book exhibition and 50% sale
Mysuru, Jan. 06, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore inaugurated the “Release of six books, book exhibition and sale of books at 50% discount” programme, organised by the Department of Ancient History and Archaeology and Publications, University of Mysore.
Speaking on the occasion he said, “the Department has very rare books with more than 70 thousand titles. Process of republishing of 222 titles are in progress. The pritning activities of the University commenced way back in the year 1924 and it was renamed as publications in the year 1933. The department has published more than 2800 titles till date,” he said.
On the occasion he called the contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar for the University of Mysore and publications department.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, UoM, Prof. N.M. Talawar, Director, Publications, Prof. S. Shivarajappa, Director, Ancient History and Archaeology Research and Dr. E.C. Ningaraje Gowda, Syndicate Member were present.
