Bengaluru, Jan.18, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) which couldn’t pay money even to the contractors just a year ago has set on profit-making path now. The BDA bank account is full of money now. Moreover, the corrupt officials in BDA are scared to involve in corruption. All these are the achievements of DR. H.R. Mahadev, who took over as the new BDA Commissioner.
The BDA appears to be on the right path after the new commissioner took over charge. The new Commissioner Dr. H. R. Mahadev took the corruption in the distribution of BDA sites seriously and conducted a police investigation and has been successful in exposing a scam involving crores of rupees.
There was only Rs. 3 crore in the BDA bank account in the month of April-May 2020, as revealed by then BDA Commissioner Dr. G.C. Prakash. BDA was clearly on the path of loss. But soon after Dr. H.R. Mahadev took over charge as the new Commissioner, he started the process of auctioning the sites in various BDA layouts in five phases through e-auctioning. As a result, 1307 sites were sold out of the total 1811, earning BDA a huge profit. The total amount of the sites sold was Rs.747.50 crore. Through e-auctioning it has earned Rs. 1167.73 crore which means the BDA has earned 56.35% profit!
