ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು,ಆಗಸ್ಟ್,25,2022(www.justkannada.in): ಎಂಟು ನೂತನ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ‘ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿವಿಗಳ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ-2000’ಕ್ಕೆ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ತರಲು ಗುರುವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ಸಭೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಸಿ ಎನ್ ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥನಾರಾಯಣ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಅವರು, ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ, ಹಾವೇರಿ, ಹಾಸನ, ಕೊಡಗು, ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ, ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ, ಬೀದರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಡ್ಯ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಸುಗಮವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಸವರಾಜ ಬೊಮ್ಮಾಯಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹೊಸ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಯಲ್ಲಿ 18, ಹಾಸನ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಯಲ್ಲಿ 36, ಹಾವೇರಿ 40, ಬೀದರ್ 140, ಕೊಡಗು 24, ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ 40 ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ ವಿವಿಗಳು 71 ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರಲಿವೆ. ಇವುಗಳ ಜತೆಗೆ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ವಿ.ವಿ. ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ಆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳು ಬರಲಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಂಡ್ಯ ವಿವಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕ 7 ವಿ.ವಿ.ಗಳ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಬಜೆಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ತಲಾ 2 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 14 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಏಕೀಕೃತ ವಿವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಂಡ್ಯದ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಕಾಲೇಜನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೊಂದು ವಿವಿ ಇರಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಸರಕಾರದ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅಸಮತೋಲನ ನಿವಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಯುವಜನರಿಗೆ ಮನೆ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲೇ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡುವ ಸದಾಶಯ ಇದರ ಹಿಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಅಶ್ವಥ್ ನಾರಾಯಣ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ನೂತನ ವಿ.ವಿ.ಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಜನಾ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳು ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿವೆ. ಇವು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸ್ಥಳ, ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಡಿಮೆ ವೆಚ್ಚದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ನಡೆಸಲಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

Cabinet nod for Varsity Act amendment: Pave way for establishment of 8 new Univarsities
Bengaluru, August 25, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Aswhathnarayana today informed that the cabinet has given its nod to amend the ‘Karnataka Varsities Act, 2000’, paving way for establishment of eight new varsities in the state.
“This development has made it easier for proposed establishment of the varsities at Chamarajanagara, Haveri, Hassan, Kodagu, Bagalkote, Bidar and Mandya. I congratulate Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for this,” he said.
Out of these varsities, number of colleges will be opened as follows: Chamarajanagar Unviersity (18 colleges), Hassan (36), Haveri (40), Bidar (140), Kodagu (24), Koppal (40) and Bagalkote (71). Along with this first grade colleges of the respective districts will also come under that varsity.
“Except Mandya University, establishment of the other seven varsities were announced in this year’s budget. A sum of Rs. 14 crore has been provided at the rate of Rs. 2 crore each. The decision of converting the Mandya Government College into an University was taken recently,” he explained.
“It is the intention of the State Government to have one university in each district, in order to solve the educational imbalance. It is also the objective of the government in reaching out good quality education at the doorsteps of the youth,” he observed.
“The finance and planning departments have given its nod for establishment of the new varsities, which requires lesser space, lesser staff and lesser expenditure,” he added.
