Bengaluru, October 8, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The resolution to increase the reservation quota for SC/STs, taken in the all-party meeting held yesterday, was passed in the cabinet meeting today.
In the all-party meeting held yesterday, it was decided to increase the reservation quota for SCs from 15% to 17%, and from 5% to 7% for STs. This resolution was approved today in the cabinet meeting held in the leadership of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. The State Govt. has also given its consent for the implementation of Justice Nagamohan Das report.
Speaking to the media persons after the cabinet meeting, Law Minister J.C. Madhuswamy informed that the cabinet had completely agreed to the Nagamohan Das report and has been approved in both the houses. “We will send it to the Union Govt. after completion of the formalities and increase the reservation quota once we get the approval of the Union Govt.,” he said.
