Bengaluru, August 5, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “There is no compromise regarding implementation and commencing of the Mekedatu project work. We will definitely commence the works,” informed Chief Minsiter Basavaraj Bommai.
Responding about the BJP Tamil Nadu State President Annamalai’s hunger strike opposing the Mekedatu project, he said that Tamil Nadu is opposing the project only because of political gain. “I have already met the party national leaders and appealed in this regard. The detailed project report is being prepared and I am sure of getting the clearance at the earliest. Works will commence at the earliest at any cost,” he added.
“Everybody knows about the water sharing during crisis. The Mekedatu project is being undertaken in this context itself. We won’t compromise at any cost in this project. I am damn sure of getting permission for the project and the works will begin soon,” he said.
