Mysuru, November 2, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today offered ‘Bagina’ to the brimming Kabini Reservoir.
The Chief Minister offered ‘Bagina’ and performed puja as per the tradition, at the Kabini reservoir, located near the Beechanahalli Village, in H.D. Kote Taluk, Mysuru District. Offering ‘Bagina’ to the Kabini reservoir was delayed this year, as the KRS reached its maximum level lately.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues Govind Karajola, S.T. Somashekar, MLAs Anil Chikkamadu, N. Mahesh, and others.
Speaking to the media persons later, he informed that almost all the reservoirs in the State have reached their maximum level. “It is indeed happy to offer ‘Bagina’ to the reservoirs. More than us, farmers should feel happy. Earlier also I had offered ‘Bagina’ as an Irrigation Minister. The proposal of building a garden in front of the Kabini Reservoir online with Brindavan garden is pending. I will check it,” he informed.
In his response to the reporters’ question on opposition leader Siddaramaiah’s tweet recommending the name of the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar for the prestigious ‘Padmashri’ award, the Chief Minister informed that he has a lot of respect for the late actor and informed that he would check it. “Let Siddaramaiah submit a proposal. The government will also prepare a proposal and recommend it to the Union Government. But a time should come, and there are rules and regulations to be followed. We will follow it accordingly. I agree Puneeth Rajkumar deserves more than that. All of us agree to it,” he added.
