Mysuru, May 23, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The University of Mysore has been encouraging publishing of research books right from the beginning. It has continued even after I took over charge as the VC,” observed Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He released four books at a program held at the Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Samsthe at the Manasa Gangotri campus. In his address he said, “Any University will gain attention and reputation from its research publications. The research works done by the Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Kendra have indeed brought a huge reputation to the University for several decades. I have been encouraging all the projects, including the Encyclopedia project of the center, Epigraphia Karnataka project, and Ancient Manuscripts publication project. I wish the center will publish more research books in the future.”
‘Ganita Vilasam’, authored by Prof. K.G. Narayana Prasad is an excellent book on ancient mathematics. The book Medical Edition, authored by Dr. Y.C. Bhanumati, is another good book that explains hundreds of varieties of treatments for snake bites, leprosy, and several kinds of cough and fevers. The book titled ‘Chandrasagaravaniya’ authored by Dr. Bhanumati comprises three different titles, including ‘Dharma Parikshe Vyaakhyana,’ ‘Vasudeva Parijata,’ Chandane Yakshagana.’
Prof. G.Hemanth Kumar, and Prof. T.V. Venkatachala Shastry released four books at the program. Prof. M.G. Manjunath, Director, Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Kendra, Dr. Y.C. Bhanumati, Prof. G.Narayana Prasad and G.G. Manjunath were present.
Books released: Vaidya Samputa, Chandrasagaravarniya’s three titles, Ganitha Vilasam, Virata Parva edition.
