ಮೈಸೂರು,ಮಾರ್ಚ್,29,2021(www.justkannada.in) : ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶ, ವಿದೇಶಗಳ 10 ಮಂದಿ ಪರಿಣಿತರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಯಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಮವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಸಮಾಜ 2020-21 ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ ಸಮಾಜ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಉತ್ಸವವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು, ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂಥಹವರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗಸೂಚಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪಠ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಬೇಕು. ಹೊಸ ಆಲೋಚನೆ, ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ವಿಪುಲವಾದ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂಕ್ತ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗವು ನನಗೆ ಹೃದಯಭಾಗದಂತೆ. ಅಪಾರ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕನಾಗಿ, ಕುಲಪತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗವು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿಭಾಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿದವರು ದೇಶ, ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಈವರೆಗೆ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದವರ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗವು ವಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಇತರೆ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಪ್ರೊ.ನಾಗರಾಜ ನಾಯಕ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ 115 ವರ್ಷದ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ. ಅಪಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ. ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸೇವೆ ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಹಿತದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಉಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರೊ.ಆರ್.ಶಿವಪ್ಪ, ಪ್ರೊ.ಕೆ.ಎನ್.ಮೋಹನ್ ಇತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Mysuru, Mar.29, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Efforts should be made to provide special guidance and information to the students by inviting at least 10 subject experts from across the country and other countries,” opined Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the ‘Social Chemistry 2020-21’ and book release program organized by the Department of Chemistry, University of Mysore, held at Manasagangotri.
In his address, he expressed his view that “Social Chemistry is an educational festival, in which students, researchers, and professors should participate. There are many talented students. Efforts should be made to recognize and encourage them.”
“Students today require future guidance. Along with the curriculum, they should be job-enabled by providing skill training,” he opined.
Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, in his address informed that the Department of Chemistry of the University is one of the oldest Departments and many students who pursued education here are presently serving in prestigious jobs across the world. “Because of the exemplary service of several Heads of this Department, the University is recognized across the world and has also set an example for other Departments to emulate,” he added.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, Prof. K.N. Mohan, and others were present.
