Bengaluru, Apr. 19, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Deputy Chief Minister Ashwathnarayan, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, and several other dignitaries have expressed their grief on the demise of renowned Kannada litterateur, Kannada dictionary expert Prof. G. Venkatasubbaiah.
Prof. G.V. as he was popularly known was suffering from urinary infection and was being treated in a private hospital for the last 8 days. He breathed his last yesterday past midnight.
Prof. G.V. was born at Ganjam Village near Srirangapatna Taluk, in Mysuru District. He completed his education at Mysuru. He was being conferred with several prestigious awards like the Padmashri, Pampa award, Basha Samman award, etc. His contribution to the development of the Kannada dictionary, ancient literature, and translations is memorable.
