Mysuru, September 7, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): A woman police officer of Mysuru District received Ph.D. at the 101st Convocation of the University of Mysore today.
The University of Mysore has accorded Ph.D. to her thesis on the subject, “Representation of Police in Kannada movies: A Cultural Study.” Kavitha is presently serving as DCP, at the DCRE wing. She took five years to complete the Ph.D. and this is the first thesis on the subject.
Speaking on the occasion the officer informed that her husband R. Nagashayana, who is serving as the Superintendent, in the Excise Department, placed in Chitradurga District and her guide Dr. N.K. Lolakshi, of the Kuvempu Kannada Study Center, helped her a lot in completing the thesis. “The police department also cooperated a lot. I intend to bring my research work in the form of a book,” she informed.
B.T. Kavitha has analyzed 70 Kannada movies to carry out her research work and also referred to various books on Police Department for her study.
