ಮೈಸೂರು,ಮಾರ್ಚ್,9,2022(www.justkannada.in): ಓದಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಕೊಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಕಿವಿಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೊ.ಎಸ್.ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಮೊಮೆರಿಯನ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ‘ಮೂಲ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಆಯುಧ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತು ನಡೆದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಇಂದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಜನ ಪದವಿ ಮುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಮುಂದೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಜನ ಪದವಿ, ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಡಿ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಕೊರತೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದಾರೂ ಆಗಲಿ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಇರಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಈ ಧೋರಣೆ ಬದಲಾಗಬೇಕು. ಯುವ ಸಮೂಹ ಹೊಸ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಹಿಂದೆ ಇದ್ದಂತಹ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ಪಾಠ ಮಾಡುವ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬಾಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ತೋರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರೊ.ಎಸ್.ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಗುರುಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ತತ್ತ್ವ ಗಳು ನನಗೆ ಅಚ್ಚುಮೆಚ್ಚು. ಸದಾ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ತುಂಬುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರೇ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ. ಅಂದಿನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಈಗ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೊ. ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು 650 ಬೋಧಕರಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೀಗ ಈ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 260ಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತಿದೆ. ಸರಕಾರ ನೇಮಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಬೇಕು. ಜ್ಞಾನ ತುಂಬ ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಇಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಇದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಎಂಎ ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಕ್ಲರ್ಕ್ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣ. ಎಲ್ಲದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಸರಕಾರದ ಕೆಲಸ ಎನ್ನದೆ ಉದ್ಯಮ ಆಗಿ, ವಿವಿಧ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ಕೆರಿಯರ್ ಹಬ್ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ .ಪಿ.ವೆಂಕಟರಾಮಯ್ಯ, ಸಿಎಸ್‌ಐಆರ್-ಸಿಎಫ್ ಟಿಆರ್‌ಐನ ಕೆಮಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿ ಪ್ರೋಟಿನ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಪ್ರೊ.ರಾಜಗೋಪಾಲ್, ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಪ್ರೊ.ಎಸ್.ಸತೀಶ್, ಶುಭಾ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇತರರು ಇದ್ದರು.

Mysuru, March 9, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The government cannot provide jobs to all literates. Therefore, I advise all the educated youth to develop skills and undertake self-employment, become entrepreneurs,” observed Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He delivered a special lecture on the topic, “Basic Science Weapon,’ organized by the Microbiology Department, in association with the Prof. S. Gopal Memorial Foundation, held at the Vignana Bhavana in Manasagangotri campus.
“Thousands of people are coming out of colleges as graduates today. But a majority of them don’t know what to do. As a result of these, we are seeing today where so many people who have done graduation and post-graduation are applying for ‘D’ group jobs. A major reason for this is lack of skills. Also, people should shun love for government jobs. The youth should start thinking of undertaking self-employment and becoming entrepreneurs,” he advised.
“During earlier days teachers used to teach very nicely and they also used to guide the students towards a good career. Prof. S. Gopal was my teacher. I like his principles and his humanity. He used to inspire everyone and I am also one who was inspired by him. But today such teachers are very rare,” he observed.
“There were 650 teachers in the University of Mysore. But now it has reduced to 260. The State Government should think about the recruitment of teachers. Today there is competition everywhere. That is why a person who has done MA is working as a clerk. Lack of skills is a major reason for this. I advise stopping thinking of getting a government job and trying to think about becoming an entrepreneur and working in different companies. The career hub established by the University of Mysore is helping many youths in procuring jobs,” he added.
Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, former Vice-Chancellor, CSIR-CFTRI Chemistry Protein Division Head Prof. Rajgopal, Microbiology Division head Prof. S. Satish, Shubha Gopal, and others were present.
