ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು,ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ,13,2025 (www.justkannada.in): ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇಕಡಾ 30ರಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಿದ್ದು, ಉಳಿದ ಶೇಕಡಾ 70ರಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅವು ದುಬಾರಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಕ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ನವೋದ್ಯಮಗಳು ನೆಲೆಯೂರಿದರೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ಅಗ್ಗವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ವಿನೂತನ ನಗರವು ವೈದ್ಯರು, ದಾದಿಗಳು, ಅರೆವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪಳಗಿದವರನ್ನು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಮೂಲೆಮೂಲೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಕಳಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಖ್ಯಾತ ವೈದ್ಯ ಡಾ.ದೇವಿಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುವಾರ ನಡೆದ `ಭಾರತದ ಮುಂದಿನ ನಾವೀನ್ಯತೆಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಕೇಂದ್ರ: ಕ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ನೀಲನಕ್ಷೆ’ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಕ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೃಪ್ತಿಕರವಾಗಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ 30 ಟ್ರಿಲಿಯನ್ ಡಾಲರುಗಳಷ್ಟು ಅಗಾಧ ಹಣವನ್ನು ವಿನಿಯೋಗಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾವು ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಉಂಟಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೇವೆ ಕೊಡುವುದರ ಬದಲು, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯೇ ಉಂಟಾಗದಂತೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನೊಂದೆಡೆ, ಕಂಪನಿ, ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಮತ್ತು ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಅಪನಂಬಿಕೆಯೇ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ವಿಮಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಚಹರೆಗಳು ಜನಪರವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಭಾರತವು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ವೈದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡ ಭಾರತೀಯ ವೈದ್ಯರ ಬಳಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾರ್ವರ್ಡ್ ವಿವಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನವೇ ಇದನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ನರ್ಸಿಂಗ್ ತರಹದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ 18 ಮಿಲಿಯನ್ ದಾದಿಗಳ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದೆ. ಹೊರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶುಶ್ರೂಷಕಿಯರಾಗಿರುವ ಭಾರತದ ಯುವತಿಯರು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದರಿಂದ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ.ಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದೆ-ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಕಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಡಾ.ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಿಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ: ರಾವ್
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಸಿಇಒ ರಾವ್ ಮುನಿಕುಟ್ಲ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, `ಕ್ವಿನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಅಥವಾ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಸಿಟಿಗಳಂಥ ಯೋಜನೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಲಾಭವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ. ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ಇಂಥ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಆದಾಯವಿರುವಂಥ ಕಸುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದೇನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ತರಬೇತಿಯಷ್ಟೇ ಸಾಕು’ ಎಂದರು.
ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ದೇವನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ ಆತಿಥ್ಯೋದ್ಯಮ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ 7,000 ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ರೂಮುಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಇರುವ ಹೋಟೆಲುಗಳು ಸಾಕಾಗುತ್ತಲ್ಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು 4,000 ರೂಮುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರು, ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥ ಪೂರೈಸುವವರು ದೇವನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೊಡ್ಡಬಳ್ಳಾಪುರದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೇವಲ ಹತ್ತನೇ ಕ್ಲಾಸಿನವರೆಗೆ ಓದಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ತರಬೇತಿ ಇರುವ ಯುವಜನರು ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವೀಧರಷ್ಟೇ ಸಂಬಳ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ನಾವು ಕೂಡ ದೇವನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸ್ಕೂಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

KWIN City should become a training hub for healthcare services: Dr Deviprasad Shetty
Bengaluru: Only 30% of the world’s population has access to healthcare services, while the remaining 70% find them unaffordable. Renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Deviprasad Shetty believes that if healthcare-related startups establish themselves in KWIN City, healthcare services will become more affordable. As a result, this innovative city could emerge as a training hub for doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff on a large scale, sending trained professionals to every corner of the globe, he said.
Dr Shetty made these remarks during a panel discussion at the “India’s Next Hub of Innovation: Karnataka’s Blueprint for KWIN City Development” session, held as part of the GIM Invest Karnataka 25 here.
Healthcare and medical services are a primary focus in KWIN City. Dr Shetty pointed out that to provide satisfactory healthcare services worldwide, an investment of around 30 trillion dollars is required. Rather than providing services after people fall ill, he stressed the importance of focusing on preventive healthcare to avoid the onset of health issues. Additionally, he mentioned that companies, hospitals, and the insurance sector, which is currently filled with distrust from both patients and providers, should become more people-oriented.
Dr. Shetty further highlighted that India is producing quality doctors. People in the US and the UK prefer to seek treatment from Indian doctors, as confirmed by Harvard University studies. He also drew attention to the shortage of 18 million nurses globally. Indian women working as nurses abroad are sending home between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh per month, providing financial support to their families. Dr Shetty emphasised the need to take advantage of this opportunity.
Employment opportunities for locals: Rao
Rao Munikutla, CEO of Bengaluru Airport City, also spoke at the event, stating that it is incorrect to say that projects like KWIN City or airport cities do not benefit locals. In reality, such projects create significant income-generating opportunities for surrounding communities. He clarified that these jobs do not require proficiency in English but can be performed by individuals with just two years of good training.
He elaborated on the hospitality sector around Devanahalli, mentioning that there is a need for an additional 7,000 hotel rooms in the region. The current hotels are insufficient to meet demand, and they are in the process of constructing 4,000 new rooms. Local people from Devanahalli and Doddaballapura are already employed in these sectors, handling tasks such as cooking and food supply. Even young people with education only up to the 10th grade, but with proper training, are earning salaries comparable to engineering graduates, he said.
Rao also mentioned that they are starting international-level schools in Devanahalli and providing free education to local children.
The event also saw the participation of prominent figures such as Aditya Veervani, CEO of Embassy Group, Ranch Kimball, Trustee of Boston University, and Vikrant Shrotriya, managing director of Novo Nordisk India.
