Mysuru, September 7, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The role of technology is vital in the way which we are moving. Therefore, more importance has been given for technology in the new National Education Policy. It is in fact a matter that has to be appreciated,” opined Dr. Shekar C. Mande, Director General, CSIR, New Delhi.
He participated in the 101st Convocation of the University of Mysore, held at the Crawford Hall in Mysuru today.
In his address he said, “the student community across the world has adopted to the digital era. We are leading in online education system also today. Hence, it is appreciable to note the fact that the new NEP has given more importance for technology based education. The demand for virtual mode of education has increased in recent days. It has enabled us to see multimedia visuals. Students are adopting scientific subjects more today. It in fact will increase the self dependence skills. Logical, technical, skill based and creative learning is also the need of the hour,” he explained.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Msyore. Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar (Exams), Prof. A.P. Jnanaprakash and others were present.
