Bengaluru, Nov. 20, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): “With a view of increasing the contribution of ‘Bio Economy’ to 5,000 crore dollars in the next five years we are giving more stress on production of vaccines, adding value to agriculture technology, bio-production and sea based bio-technology areas,” opined Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, IT/BT Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
He released the first “Karnataka Bio Economy Report -2020” of the State on Friday, at the ‘Bengaluru Technology Mela’. Explaining that the report comprises 7 major recommendations, he expressed confidence that the lives of people would improve due to the bio technological developments that will happen in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry, nutrition, vaccination, health service, bio fuel, sea based livelihood.
On the occasion he also informed that the construction works of the bio-technology cluster in an area of 80 lakh sq. ft. at an estimated cost of Rs. 7,000 crore has commenced in Electronic City.
