Mysuru, Mar. 12, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “We got our independence by Mahatma Gandhiji through his fight for independence based on non-violence and satyagraha. Gandhiji’s truth and non-violence thoughts can become solutions to all the problems on this earth,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a program titled, “Azadi ka Amruth Mahotsav,” organized to commemorate the Dandi Yatra. In his address, he said that Gandhi’s life-inspiring thoughts are like a guide for the world today. Everyone should try to understand his thoughts and follow his principles.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, the University of Mysore in his address mentioned that the ‘Dadi Yatra’ was a struggle to tell the British that we won’t agree with what they say. ‘Mahatma Gandhi blew the horn for the struggle for Indian independence through the salt satyagraha,” he added.
Senior Gandhian K.T. Veerappa, NSS Program Coordinator Dr. M.B. Suresh, Prof. M.S. Shekar, Director, Gandhi Bhavana, along with the NSS-IET training program participants were present on the occasion.
