ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಮಾ.03, 2020 : (www.justkannada.in news ) ಜೋಗಿ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಗಿರೀಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಹತ್ವಾರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯೆಂಬುದು ಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳು, ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಥೆಗಳು, ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ, ಅಂಕಣ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನೇನು ಬಾಕಿ ಉಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಕಾರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು, ಅವರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಾದಂಬರಿ- ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥಾಮನ್- ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವು ಮುದ್ರಣ, ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ-ಪುಸ್ತಕ (ಇ-ಪುಸ್ತಕ ) ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರಾವ್ಯ ಪುಸ್ತಕ (ಆಡಿಯೋಬುಕ್) ಈ ಮೂರೂ ರೂಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಬಂದಿವೆ. ಈ ಮೂರು ರೂಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲು ಕಾರಣಕರ್ತರು ಮೈಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ಬುಕ್ಸ್ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಪ್ರೈವೆ ಟ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್.
ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೇ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ. ಮೈಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ಸಹ ಬಿಡುಗಡ ಗೊಂಡಿದೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ-ಆವೃತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರಾವ್ಯ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯೂ ಲಭ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದ ರಂಗಕರ್ಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ನಟನೆಗೆ ಹೆಸರಾದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನಟ ಅಚ್ಯುತ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು , ಜೋಗಿಯವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಜೋಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆಂದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ವಾರವೂ ಅವರು ಒಂದು ಪುಸ್ತ ಕ ತರಬಲ್ಲರು. ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯೆಂಬುದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಒಂದು ರಿಯಾಜ್ ಇದ್ದಂತೆ. ಅದು ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಲಿ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಅವರು ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಛದ್ಮ ವೇಷ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆಯೇ? ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಚಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಲಿ… .
ತಮಿಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಿಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಮಣಿಪಾಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ವೈದೆಹಿಯವರೇ ಓದಿದ ಅವರ ಕೃತಿಗಳು ಸಿಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಕಲಾವಿದರಾದ ಅಚ್ಯುತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈಗೊಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೋ ಗಿ ಬರಹಗಾರರಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಗು ಹೋಗುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಲೇ ಬೇಕೇ? ಎಂಬುದು. ಅವರ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲೂ ನಡೆಯುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಅಗತ್ಯ-ಅನಗತ್ಯ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಿಗೂ-ಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲೇ ಬೇಕೇ? ಬರಹಗಾರನೊಬ್ಬ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲೂ ನಡೆಯುವಂತಹ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಘಟನೆ-ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸೃಜನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಸಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಯೇ? ಅಂತಹ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಬರೆದರೆ ಅರ್ಧಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ? ಬರೆಯುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯಾವುದೇ ಇರಲಿ, ಅದು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದರೆ ಸಾಕಲ್ಲವೇ? ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯೆಂಬುದು ಪೂಲಿಟಿಕಲೀ ಕರಕ್ಟ್ ಆಗಲೇಬೇಕೇ?
ಕಾದಂಬರಿ-ಸಣ್ಣಕಥೆಗಳ ಬರಹಗಾರರಾದ ಜೋಗಿಯವರ ಲೇಖನಿಯಿಂದ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದ ಹ ಲವಾರು ಪುಸ್ತ ಕಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಸೃಜಿಸಿದ ಹಲವಾರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳ ಜನರ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು, ವಿಲಕ್ಷಣತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾನಸಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು, ಜೀವನದ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕವಾದದು.
ಜೋಗಿಯವರ ಸರಳ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಪೂರ್ವಗ್ರಹವಿಲ್ಲದ, ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಹೇರುವಂತಿಲ್ಲದ, ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಪ್ರಚೋದನಕಾರಿಯಲ್ಲದ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಬರವಣಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಜನರ ಮನಗೆದ್ದಿದೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಸನ್ಮಾನಗಳು, ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳೂ ದೊರೆತಿವೆ. ಅವರ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಶೈಲಿಯು ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ಓದುಗರ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಆಳವಾದ ಬೇರು ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಯೂರಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಾಸ್ತವತೆಯ ಅರಿವಿದೆ. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹಿಂಜರಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರೊಬ್ಬ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ. ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಡಂಬನೆಯ ಬಣ್ಣಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಬಳಸುವ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಯಮವಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅವರು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿನಯಶೀಲರು.
ಜೋಗಿ ಇರಲಿ, ಯಾವ ಲೇಖಕ ತಾನೇ ಮುಖವಾಡ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬರಹಗಾರರು, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು ಎಡ ಅಥವಾ ಬಲಪಂಥೀಯರು ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹವರೂ ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿಜವಾದ ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಚಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದು ವಿಶೇಷ
ಲಾಭ ಅಥವ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಗಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ, ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕೆಲವರು ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳಗಿನ ತುಡಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯಾದರೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಜೋಗಿಯವರ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಮರ್ಶಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬೆಳಸಿದ, ಪೋಷಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಅವರ ನಿಲುವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲಬಹುದು .
ಬರಹವನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ, ಜೋಗಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಇದೆ. ಭಾನುವಾರದ ಸಮಾರಂಭ, ಅವರು ಈ ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬರಹಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿರಲಿ, ಅವು ಸಂತೋಷ, ಮುಗುಳ್ನಗೆ, ಸ್ನೇಹಪರತೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತ . ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಯಾಕೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಬಾರದು? ಬಹುಶಃ, ಮುಂದೆ ಜೋಗಿ ಸಹ ತಮಗೆ ತಾವೇ ಸವಾಲು ಒಡ್ಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ತಮ್ಮ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ಜೀವನವೆಂಬುದು ಹುಡುಕಾಟ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಶೀಲವಾದುದು. ಹೊಸ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥಾಮನ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಹಂ ಅನ್ನು ತೃಪ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನಟನೊಬ್ಬನ ಕುರಿತಾದುದು.
ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಗಮನಸೆಳೆದ ಒಂದು ಸಂಗತಿಯೆಂದರೆ ನಟರಾದ ವಶಿಷ್ಠ ಎನ್ ಸಿಂಹ ಅವರ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮತ್ತು ಚೊಕ್ಕದಾದ ಭಾಷಣ. ಅವರ ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಗಮನವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸೆಳೆದರು. ಅಡಿಯೋ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಓದಿದವರು ಅವರೇ. ಅವರು ಜೋಗಿಯವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾದಂ ಬರಿಯ ಯಂತ್ರ (Novel Machine ) ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು. ಅದು ಸತ್ಯ ಸಹ .
ಮೈಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾ ಪಿಸಿದವರು ಹಿಂದೆ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ವಸಂತಕುಮಾರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪವಮಾನ ಪಿ.ಅಥಣಿ ಎಂಬುವವರು . ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ್ದು. ಮೈಲ್ಯಾಂಗ್ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ಒಂದು ರೀತಿ ಕಿಂಡಲ್ನಂತೆ. ಈ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ವೆ ದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹಲವಾರು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿವೆ. ಜೋಗಿಯವರ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಬಾಷೆಯ ಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಲಿ , ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುವಾದಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಶಿಸೋಣ.

Girish Rao Hatwar, popularly addressed as Jogi, is a Kannada journalist whose writing comes naturally. He writes fiction, short stories, screenplay, dialogues, columns, and whatnot! On Sunday, his one more fiction – Ashwatthaman – got released. The book is in 3 versions – print, e-book, and audiobook. The different formats have been made possible because of the Bengaluru-based MyLang Books Digital Private Limited, an initiative by Kannadigas. An App of the MyLang was launched which gives access to the e-version as well as the audio.
One of the chief guests at the event was Achyutha Kumar, a theater personality and movie actor who knows the grammar of subtle acting. While referring to Jogi he said, “Jogi writes so much that he may bring a book weekly. But he says writing is like riyaz – practicing. Well…let it continue. But is he wearing a chadma vesha (camouflage/mask) while writing? Let him open up and respond to issues…what is his real thinking…
In Tamil and Hindi, a lot of work in the digital world has been done to make available books. The Manipal institution had made Vaidehi read her works and brought out them in CD.” Achyutha, a thinking artist, has indeed articulated his opinion without mincing words.
Now the question comes should Jogi transform into a writer who responds to all the happenings in society? Should he be responsive to every damn thing happening around him? Can a writer get first-hand information regarding every development in this country or around him/her to present it creatively? Should not writing, be in any genre, touch human emotions rather than making a political statement? Is Jogi, being a fiction writer, been capturing people and their emotions, idiosyncrasies, psychology, the essence of life itself among others through several books he has authored and several characters he has created? The answer is positive.
His simple Kannada, unbiased, not so opinionated and not so enervating style of presentation has earned him laurels. He has a fan base of his own as his style of writing has struck a chord with his scores of readers. He is one of the most active media persons- both online and offline – in Karnataka. There are no overtones of satire in his works. The language is restraint. His deep roots in the villages of the Coast has made him be in touch with the realities. He is not averse to adopting technology when it comes to the distribution of the content. More than anything – he is affable.
Which writer doesn’t wear a veil? It could be thick or thin. Writers, who usually presume themselves as intellectuals and have a say on everything, are mostly now divided between -Left and Right. Even such ‘ism’ writers may be concealing their true shades – just to score brownie points. Of course, some may be driven by an inner urge to remain contemporary. But they are few and far between. Some writers can make you relax while reading their works, while some leave you agitated, ponder, cynical and tax the brain. Let Jogi keep exploring the spirit and shades of the mind. Even critical analysis of some of his novels may throw light on the characters he has developed.
Writing, if considered as a just skill, then Jogi has it. The Sunday’s event was an example to show how he has earned friends over a period. If writings, let it be any form, spread happiness, smile, and bonhomie, then it is welcome. If his writing style has brought him sustainability in this highly competitive world, then why not go ahead with it? Maybe, Jogi too in the future will change his approach to writing to challenge himself. After all, life is all about exploring and experimenting.
Coming to the new book Ashwatthaman – it is about a film actor who eternally searches for love to satisfy his ego. The highlight of the program was the crisp and short speech by actor Vasistha N Simha. With his baritone, he could immediately connect to the audience. It is who has read the book for the audio version. He affectionately addressed Jogi as a ‘Novel Machine’. It is true also.
MyLang is established by Vasanthkumar Shetty and Pavamana P Athani, who were earlier in the technology field. Their love for Kannada prodded them to begin the new journey. MyLang app is is a sort of Kindle. The digital platform already has many books to offer to readers. It also reminds us of Kanaja portal, developed by the Department of Kannada & Culture.
One wish that Jogi’s good works cross language boundaries and thus get translated into English and other Indian languages.
