Mysuru, Mar. 19, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “There is no dearth of jobs. But today graduates and postgraduates have become unemployed because of a lack of skills. To fill this gap the University of Mysore has come up with the Career Hub program which equips students with employment skills,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the ‘Skill Development Training’ program organized jointly by the CPDPS, Career Hub, and the All India Researchers’ Association, held at the B.M. Sri auditorium in Manasagangotri campus today.
“Government cannot provide jobs to all. Graduates and post-graduates should inculcate skills that are required to get a job and shape their future. Efforts will be made to equip the students with the required skills in all the departments including Arts, Science, and Commerce,” he observed.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore said, “it is not correct to blame the system or the University without cultivating the required skills as per the changing world. You should try to utilize the available opportunities and come forward in life.”
Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, former Vice-Chancellor, Kuvempu University, M.G. Manjunath, Director, Kannada Research Centre, and Dr. Kushal Baraguru, President, All India Researchers’ Association were present on the occasion.
