Mysuru, July 20, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Mysuru Dasara was celebrated in a simple way for the last two years because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, this year the State Government has decided to conduct Dasara grandly.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, along with his wife visited the Chamundi hills in Mysuru and offered puja to the Goddess Chamundeshari. He was accompanied by Mysuru District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar, Ministers Govinda Karajola, MLAs S.A. Ramadas, G.T. Devegowda, and others.
Speaking to the press reporters later, the Chief Minister informed that a grand Dasara will be held this year. “We conducted a meeting yesterday. Dasara celebrations were a low-key affair in the last two years due to the pandemic. This year it will be held traditionally. All the programs including the ‘Gajapayana’ will be conducted with grandeur. We are also trying to add new attractions this year. Efforts are made to give publicity at the International level and attract more visitors. We will announce the Mysuru Tourism Circuit in one week,” he informed.
He also informed that discussions are being held concerning who has to inaugurate the Dasara this year. “We will collect the opinion of all and select the suitable person. A decision regarding forming of Dasara Authority will be decided in the coming days,” he added.
