Bengaluru, January 12, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayana today informed that, discussions have already been held with the Chief Minister regarding the problems faced by the 14,000 guest lecturers in the state, who are protesting and asked them to withdraw their protest immediately and get back to work.
A meeting was held to discuss the fulfillment of various demands and problems of the guest lecturers, with the Chairman of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti, at the Office of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council. Speaking to the press persons after the meeting Minister Dr. Ashwathnarayana told that representatives of several guest lecturers associations also had participated in the meeting. He informed that as the Chief Minister who is getting treatment for Corona, the final decision would be announced one or two days. “Solution to the problems of the guest lecturers involves financial matters, overall we are looking at this matter with sympathy,” he added.
MLCs Ayanur Manjunath, Shashil Namoshi, Puttanna, Chidanandagowda, S.V. Sunkanuru, Arun Shahpura, Y.V. Narayanaswamy, K.T. Srikantegowda, Bojegowda and Hanumantha Nirani, Higher Education Department Additional Chief Secretary Kumar Nayak and College Education Department Commissioner P. Pradeep were present in the meeting.
