New Delhi, Jan. 28, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): MLC H. Vishwanath’s last hope and dream of becoming a Minister has been ended by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, which has upheld the High Court’s orders.
H. Vishwanath had lost in the assembly elections. The State Government nominated him for the legislative council and opted to make him a minister through the backdoor. The High Court of Karnataka in its order had mentioned that H. Vishwanath is a nominated member and cannot be made a minister, as he is not elected by the people.
H.Vishwanath had appealed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court questioning High Court orders. The SC has upheld the HC orders now and has quashed his application.
