Mysuru, Jan. 21, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The High Court of Karnataka has expressed its displeasure on the decision of the Mysore Bar Association on restricting taking up of the case of Nalini Balakumar, who is facing accusation charges of displaying a poster with a message ‘Free Kashmir.’
Advocate Ramesh Nayak had filed a PIL in the High Court against the Mysore Bar Association’s decision. The Hon’ble High Court Division bench, led by Justice S.K. Oka heard the case and has expressed its displeasure. It has questioned where is the power to restrict not to take up the case representing an accused person? Under which law have you taken this decision? The advocates have informed the High Court that they would submit the details by obtaining more information from the Association.
