Bengaluru, Nov. 21, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Himanshu Makar of Rajasthan has emerged as the champion of the National Rural IT quiz competition organised by the Ministry of IT and BT, Govt. of Karnataka, in association with the IT giant TCS.
The Bengaluru Tech Meet-2020 had organised the National quiz on a virtual platform. Himanshu, a student of the Swami Vivekananda Government Model School, Surathgadh, Rajasthan maintained the lead from the beginning rounds itself. He secured first place by scoring 350 marks and earned Rs. 1 lakh cash prize, followed by Aman Kumar, of the Devas Excellence Govt. School, Madhya Pradesh, who earned 300 marks and earned Rs. 50,000 cash prize.
The objective of organising this quiz programme was to educate and create interest among the rural students in the area of Information Technology. This quiz programme is being held for the last 21 years and already reached 18 million children. The quiz that is being held for students studying from 8th standard to 12th standard students in various levels has already gained a place in the Limca Book of Records.
