Mysuru, May 24, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Responding to allegations of insulting national poet Kuvempu in the new textbooks, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh today observed that if there is any insult caused to Kuvempu then Siddaramaiah is responsible for it, as the Congress people are spreading lies.
Speaking in Mysuru today, the Education Minister said, “The Congress people spread lies about Tipu, Narayan Guru, Bhagat Singh, and Basavanna. When all those failed now they are raising the Kuvmepu issue. But unfortunately, even that also has misfired. Siddaramaiah should apologize before Kuvempu. Four lessons were dropped from the curriculum during Siddaramaiah’s tenure. We have tried to include it. It was they who had removed information about our country and culture. I request the Congress people to please read the book, keep the content in hand and then argue. Please don’t argue on personal grounds, it is not correct.”
Replying to a question the Minister informed that there is no question of revising the textbooks, as it is already printed.
