Mysuru, February 8, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Following a statement by Congress MLA Khanija Fatima, challenging the government to stop her from entering Vidhana Soudha wearing a hijab, Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has asked her to try if she can struggle to allow Muslim women to enter masjids.
Speaking in Mysuru today, he said, “It is not about attending the cabinet session wearing a hijab, try to enter a masjid. How many women are allowed to enter a masjid? We have prohibited hijab only in schools, not outside,” he said.
He also said, “Siddaramaiah claims he is a second Ambedkar. Is he not aware of the constitution? Does a person who was a CM don’t know whether court orders should be followed or not? Let Siddaramaiah read what the Kerala High Court has said. Let Congress clarify it. Is it required to follow the law or not, let Siddaramaiah clarify,” he challenged.
