Mysuru, Dec. 17, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): The residents of Hulimavu Gram Panchayat, in Nanjangud Taluk, have decided to boycott the Gram Panchayat elections following the refusal of assuring jobs for locals in the Asian Paints factory.
Wednesday was the last day to submit the nominations. But nobody submitted nominations, whereas the Taluk Administration and the local police tried to convince the villagers to submit nominations. While their efforts in convincing the villagers failed, it evoked an exchange of words between the police led by the Tahasildar Mahesh Kumar and the villagers.
The Immavu villagers were protesting for the last 23 days and had also warned boycotting the GP elections. Out of the total 16 wards, nominations have been submitted in only 13 wards.
