Mysuru, June 2, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Alleging the inclusion of wrong messages of 12th Century reformer Lord Basaveshwara in the revised textbooks, the Mysuru City Chapter of the Jagatika Lingayat Mahasabha has demanded the State Government to immediately stop the tainted curriculum.
Addressing a press meet held at the Sri Nataraja Sabha Bhavana in Mysuru today, Chidananda Swamiji of the Hosmath expressed his view that the textbooks are saffronized and the text writers have concealed the truth. “The text on Basavanna is false and sends the wrong message to the students. The textbook revision committee has intentionally attempted to twist history with a vested interest. They have intentionally omitted the portions in the old text and included the wrong information. The Jagatika Lingayat Mahasabha severally opposes this,” he said.
Gurushanta Swamiji of Kuderu Math, Immadi Madiwala Swamiji of the Madiwala Swami Math, Jadeswamiji of the Devalapura Math, and pontiffs of other maths were present at the press meet.
