Mysuru, Mar.17, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, today informed that the University is taking measures to conserve the documents pertaining to 34 litterateurs. The Jayalakshmi Vilas Palace will be renovated at an estimated cost of Rs. 6 crore, in phases, where the documents will be protected.
He inaugurated the ‘DVG and BGL Swami Gallery’, jointly organized by the Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Samsthe, University of Mysore and DVG Balaga Pratishtana, held at the B.M. Sri Auditorium in Manasagangotri today.
In his address he observed that Prof. N. Talawar, Director, Publishing, University of Mysore had informed that rare documents of about 34 litterateurs are available which needs to be protected and exhibited like at the DVG and BGL Swami’s Gallery. Hence, steps will be taken for conserving those documents.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, Prof. N. Estharnath, Professor (Retd.), University of Mysore, Prof. C.R. Nagendran, B.G.L. Swami’s relative Geetha Narayana Iyer, H. Rajkumar of the DVG Balaga Prathistana, Prof. M.B. Manjunath, Director, Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Samsthe, Prof. N.M. Talawar, Director, Publications, University of Mysore and others were present on the occasion.
