Bengaluru, Dec. 29, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): “Our state is in the first place in attracting investment proposals even amidst the Corona pandemic. According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of India, as many as 95 investment proposals valued at Rs.1,54,937 crores are registered in our State and has gained first place in the country,” opined Jagadish Shettar, Minister for Large and Medium Industries.
He inaugurated a webinar on the topic, “Procurement of Cheaper Electricity for Industries through Open Access in the State of Karnataka,” held at the Karnataka Udyoga Mitra auditorium in Bengaluru today, organised by ASSOCHAM. “Our efforts in making Karnataka the most industrial-friendly State in the country is evident through this. Between August 2019 and December 2020, through the State High-level Committee and Single-window committees, 410 new projects have been approved. With this investment proposals worth Rs.82,015 crore have been submitted in the state and it will create 2,27,147 job opportunities,” he explained.
Sri Gourav Gupta, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Smt. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner, Industrial Development Department, Revanna Gowda, MD, Karnataka Udyoga Mitra were present in the programme.
