Mysuru, March 31, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, today informed that supply of Kaveri River water to the Manasa Gangotri students will commence within an year.
He participated in the 4th Education Board General Body meeting held at the Vignana Bhavana, in the Manasa Gangotri campus today. In his reply to Prof. Muzaar Assadi, he informed that it is the demand of the students from a long time for supply of Kaveri River water, which is being realized now. “The project has been implemented at a cost of Rs. 3 crore. A sum of Rs. 1 crore has already been provided to the Kaveri Neeravari Nigama. Several meetings have been held. Supply of Kaveri Water will be fulfilled to the Gangotri campus via the Kaveri backwater area,” he explained.
Mandya MLA, Education Board member M. Srinivas, MLC Veena Achaiah, Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa, Prof. A.P. Jnanaprakash and others were present.
