Mysuru, Dec. 10, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has received a record number of 17,095 applications from candidates seeking various distance education courses for the year 2020-21.
KSOU is the only distance education center in the State, which has received so many applications from candidates seeking 31 different UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses, including the recently started ones.
Inspired by the overwhelming response, the UGC Distance Education Bureau has extended the last date of receiving applications for admissions till January 15, 2021. It has helped many students who were facing several problems in applying due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of this extension, the number of applications seeking admission for distance education courses are expected to exceed 20,000.
Last year KSOU had received only 12,000 applications from all the 20 centers across the State.
Students can complete the admission process by visiting the Muktagangotri campus in Mysuru or any of the 20 centers located at Bengaluru, Ballari, Chamarajanagara, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Dharwad, Hassan, Kalaburagi, Karwar, and Kolar.
