Mysuru, Dec. 29, 2020 (www.justkananda.in): The Kuvempu Kannada Adhyayana Samsthe, University of Mysore had organised a prize distribution programme on the occasion of the 117th Birth anniversary of the National poet Kuvempu.
Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore inaugurated the programme. In his address, he said along with Kannada the center also conducts research in folk, languages, and South India studies and he called it a ‘Mini University’.
“Keeping in mind the development of the center swift decisions were taken for extension of the building and fulfilled. Efforts are being made to motivate the different departments that are functioning under this center to become more functional. The Kuvempu Kaavyadhyayana Peetha and Basaveshwara Peethas are doing good works in this regard. As a guest professor of the Kuvempu Kaavyadhyayana Peetha, Prof. N. Boralingaiah has given a new definition to Kuvempu’s thoughts,” he said.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, UoM, Prof. N. Boralingaiah, former Professor, Prof. C.P. Siddashrama, Prof. R. Ramakrishna, Prof. Nanjaiah Honganuru, Folk Professor, Prof. M.G. Manjunath, and others were present.
