Mysuru, Mar. 05, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Don’t depend on government jobs alone. Youth should learn to undertake self-employment based on their interests,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a program titled, “From Degree to Entrepreneurship”, organized by the Career Hub, CPDPS, and International Centre, of the University of Mysore, held at the Senate Bhavan in Manasagangotri today.
In his address to the students, he opined that efforts should be made to make the students strong personally and socially. “Lack of skills is the reason for unemployment in this country. The National Education Policy will help fill this gap,” he said.
“Students of all the departments should take part in such programs and try to make good utilization of this. If you won’t get a government job, try to earn a job in the private sector by developing the required skills. Otherwise, try to commence a business of your own,” he suggested.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, Prof. G.R. Janardhan, Director, International Centre were present.
