Mysuru, January 26, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The Constitution of India framed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar has played a vital role for our country to become Republic,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in a program organized by the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Centre, held at the Vishwagnani auditorium.
In his address, he said, “The credit of bringing Buddha back to India along with the idea of Republic goes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He developed the Constitution of India by researching for four years. In the Republic system, the President is the first citizen of the country, and the governor is the first citizen of a state. Our constitution has provided equality in everything along with political equality. If there is a uniform public election in our country today, it is the contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,” he said.
Prof. Rahmath Tarikere, Cultural Reformer spoke about the ‘Preamble of Constitution and Idea of India.” Prof. M. Umpathi, Senior Professor of the Political Science Department presided over the program. Dr. S. Narendrakumar, Director of the Center, and Prof. J. Somashekar were present.
