Mysuru, January 18, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Karnataka State Safai Karmacharis Commission Chairman M. Shivanna today conducted a meeting under the leadership of the University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor, Prof G. Hemanth Kumar, to address the grievances of the ‘D’ group employees of the University.
Details of the facilities that are presently provided to the pourakarmikas of the University, and the actual facilities that they are eligible to get, were discussed in the meeting. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar explained that a total number of 234 pourakarmikas are working within the University limits, and they all are being provided minimum wages. “Food kits were distributed to all of them during the COVID pandemic lockdown. A proposal to increase their DA will be presented in the next syndicate meeting and essential measures will be taken accordingly. If the government supports we will also strive to provide housing facility to the pourakarmikas,” he added.
Prabha Urs, Joint Director, Social Welfare Department, M.D. Muniraju, of the Ambedkar Development Corporation, Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore (Admin), Dr. Basappa, Deputy Registrar, S.T. Ramachandra, Student Welfare Officer, Girish, and others participated in the meeting.
